Overview

The Southern District of Te Whatu Ora / Health New Zealand require a lead construct partner to undertake the design and construction of the new Primary Birthing Unit (PBU) in Clyde.

We are looking for credible providers who have the capability, experience, and infrastructure to undertake a design and build project by the middle of 2025. They need to have a good record of accomplishment in the management of similar contracts and be able to demonstrate excellent Health and Safety Systems. We are also looking for providers who have the ability to identify and suggest practical cost reduction solutions appropriate to the work.

The successful building partner will be expected to:
a. Provide a preliminary concept design for a primary birthing unit that reflects a home away from home feel. A concept floor plan (Appendix E) has been released with this RFP and can be used as a starting point.
b. Provide a full schedule of quantities (SOQ) as an estimate of what it would cost to build, your proposed design so we can confirm that our budget is sufficient.
c. Come on board and work with our Stakeholders to complete the design and ensure it meets all clinical and financial requirements of the project.
d. Once the final design and cost has reached the desired position, the contractor will carry out the construction work under the contract detailed in section 5.1.

Note an online supplier briefing session is being held on the 2nd of August where suppliers can engage our project team, ask questions, seek clarifications, discuss the budget. Please contact us to register your attendance.
