Overview

GETS Future Procurement Opportunity (FPO)

Te Whatu Ora, in partnership with Te Aka Whai Ora, is intending to seek suppliers to deliver the following:

Peer Support Specialist Training to embed Peer Support Specialists within Mental Health and Addiction Clinical Services programmes of work.

This opportunity is to support the growth and embedding of peer support specialist workforce within specialist Mental Health and Addiction Services. It is for the development of specifically designed trainings that will be available for both peer support specialists who will be working within specialist mental health and addiction services as well as staff who work alongside Peer Support Specialists within the clinical teams. Te Whatu Ora will be seeking delivery of this training across five districts.

The intention is to run a combined single step Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
When the process commences, potential respondents will be invited to submit an RFP response for the service components.
Background
In May 2022 funding from B19 Mental Health and Addiction Workforce Development funding was approved for work relating to the development of the consumer, peer support and lived experience (CPSLE) workforce. In particular:
a) The workforce development component of a pilot programme to grow and embed peer support specialist roles within Districts and NGO specialist mental health and addiction services in up to five District areas – with associated training, community of practice and leadership development.
A process to determine the selected Te Whatu Ora Districts was completed with five Districts identified. This next step is for the development and provision of peer support specialist trainings to the newly recruited peer support specialists in those five Districts.
Indicative timeframes
The RFP is expected to be released in June 2023. Timeframes and procurement approach remain subject to change.
Note:
This is a Future Procurement Opportunity (FPO).
A FPO is an alert to suppliers of a potential upcoming procurement activity, though does not represent a commitment by Te Whatu Ora and Te Aka Whai Ora to procure.
However, it provides a signal to the market about the potential future activity. Suppliers can subscribe to this FPO.
When the RFP is released, the FPO will be linked to the RFP so that those suppliers who have subscribed to the FPO will automatically be notified of the RFP being released.
