Advance Notice prior to Tendering

The Dunedin City Council (DCC) intends to undertake an open-market procurement process; seeking proposals for contract cleaning services for 21 prominent civic, community and operational facilities along with 29 public toilets. Some of these facilities are high-use and in some instances require detailed cleaning. During the contract term and subject to performance, the scope may be increased to include the cleaning of toilets, pavilions and stadia located on DCC Parks and Reserves.

As a public organisation with many public buildings and office spaces it is important to present a hygienic, clean and professional image to all service-users as well as an appropriate working environment for council staff. It is therefore important that all cleaning services are undertaken professionally, on-time and to a high-standard. In addition, for our operational facilities such as treatments plants, or buildings with eating areas, it is vital that cross-contamination does not occur.

This presents an opportunity for a supplier to enter a long-term partnering relationship with the DCC. This contract opportunity has a three-year, three-month term with the ability to extend for up to two furthers years. The DCC is open to receiving submissions from joint-ventures or consortia.

Our intention is to issue an open tender on GETS in October 2019. Hygiene servicing and consumables is excluded from this tender.
