The purpose of this Notice is to advise the market of the Department of Corrections’ intention to release a Request for Tender (RFT) for the provision of On Body Cameras.
The Department of Corrections intends to introduce a body worn video solution to improve safety in prisons. Cameras will be worn by Corrections Officers working with prisoners in selected environments across 16 prisons.
The body worn video solution will be light weight, robust and able to be mounted to an officer’s operational uniform. It will also be capable of recording high quality audio and video and have the ability to support an officer for up to 10 hours while on duty.
The camera solution will be supported by infrastructure that includes a suitable docking solution and video file management system. The camera supplier will work with the Department to support the deployment and implementation of the camera solution.
The RFT is intended to be released via the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS) in late September / early October 2014.
