Overview

Ara Poutama Aotearoa, Department of Corrections (Corrections) is indicating an intent to go to market for Alcohol and Other Drug Testing Services in the community. This service is for people under Corrections management, not staff. This will likely be an open competitive procurement process, and the intent of this notification is to help the market to prepare. The indicative release date for this opportunity is at the end of Q2 2026 but this may change as required.

This is a national contract that will likely run for a term of three years with a right of renewal of two years (3 + 2)

Providers will need to:
1. Provide Alcohol and Other Drug Testing for people in Corrections’ management nationwide.
2. Reach into all communities across Aotearoa (including regional communities).
3. Perform a panel of drug testing services to the AS/NZS 2025 standard as the results must be court admissible.

The successful provider for this service will be able to provide:
