This Future Procurement Opportunity (FPO) provides advance notice to the market that Ara Poutama Aotearoa (The Department of Corrections) intends to go out to market for the facilitation of the Rehabilitation Programme ‘Te Pikinga’.

Te Pikinga is a group programme that seeks to help attendees to develop skills to enable them to build pro-social relationships. It is delivered onsite to people in prison on remand. There are three modules that are delivered in the programme which are:

a. Emotions

b. Thoughts

c. Relationships



Each module builds using Te Whare Tapa Whā as the foundation. We will be looking for enthusiastic and flexible providers to facilitate the delivery of the programme.



The programmes are likely to be provided at the following sites:

1. Waikeria Prison

2. Auckland Prison

3. Christchurch Men’s Prison

Delivery may be extended to other sites.



We hope to release a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) for this service by August 2025.
