This Future Procurement Opportunity is to notify training and education service providers that Ara Poutama Aotearoa is planning to purchase art, distance education and reintegration training services to be delivered at the Northern Region Corrections Facility. Please note: this Future Procurement Opportunity provides an indication of our planning and can not be responded to as an RFx advertisement.
The aim of these training services is to support effective education and reintegration outcomes for those in our care to minimise their risk of re-offending and maximise their opportunity for an offense-free future. Key goals of these art and education training services are:
i) Effective management of interaction with others
ii) Improved confidence
iii) Learning skills
iv) Stronger relationships with whanau and the wider community
v) Improved capability to:
a. Identify and understand life pressures
b. Navigate through everyday life
vi) Link to post-release opportunities for continuation in the arts and education domains
vii) Development of pro-social attitudes
viii) Increased participation in the training
ix) Improved alignment with Hōkai Rangi – Ara Poutama Aotearoa Strategy 2019-2024
x) Flexible, adaptable content and delivery framework using best practice methodologies
Ideally service will start about the start of February 2022 with an initial contract period likely to be five years with two rights of renewal of not more than a year each. Baseline funding exists and the estimated value is in the order of $1.7m to $1.9m excluding GST over the possible seven-year life of the contract. Ara Poutama Aotearoa is conscious of cost and intends to constrain per hour rates for the art training services ($65 per hour excluding GST) and the distance education support and reintegration training services ($45 per hour excluding GST).
