Cloud Infrastructure Management Services – Notice of Intent

(Cloud Infrastructure Management Tender – Aim to Release ROI in Next 4-8 Weeks)

The Department of Corrections works to make New Zealand a better, safer place by:
• protecting the public from those who can cause harm
• reducing re-offending.

Each week we manage 8,500 people in prisons and 30,000 offenders in our communities. Our 8,000 staff are committed to supporting offenders to help them address their offending and gain skills that will help them lead a crime-free life.

The Department protects the public of New Zealand from those who can harm them, by:
• making sure prisoners, parolees and other offenders in the community comply with the sentences and orders imposed by the Courts and Parole Board
• providing offenders with rehabilitation programmes, education and job training that will turn their lives around and break the cycle of re-offending.

The Department’s’ goal is to reduce re-offending by 25% by 2017. We believe that turning people away from crime is an investment worth making, not just from an economic point of view, but for the good of New Zealand society.

The Department will soon be calling for Registrations of Interest from vendors capable of providing the following types of Cloud Infrastructure Management services :
 Implementation and Systems Integration Services related to project delivery
 Configuration and Design Library Management and documentation
 Capacity and Dynamic utilisation Management
 Data, Storage, Replication and Backup Services
 System User, Account and Identity Management
 System monitoring and alerting (at a level appropriate to the Cloud Service)
 Incident Management
 Request Fulfilment Management
 Change Management
 Security Management
 Server Management (including patching if applicable)
 Database and app fabric management
 DR capability
 Remuneration constructs/models for services provided
(relates to your pricing model not the Cloud Capability pricing - nor your actual dollar pricing)

The Department is planning a multi-step procurement approach. The indicative dates for the release of documents are:

 April 2015 –Registration of Interest
 July 2015 – closed Request for Proposal
