Overview

The Northland Transportation Alliance, on behalf of Whangarei District Council are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Contractor to supply and install regulatory speed signs for Whangarei Heads Rd catchment and permanent curve warning signage along Ngunguru Rd to reduce deaths and serious injuries.

This tender package includes two (2) separable portions; Whangarei Heads Road Speed Management, and High-Risk Rural Roads Ngunguru Rd.

Separable Portion 1: Whangarei Heads Road Catchment sits in The Whangarei District Speed Limits Bylaw 2019 setting the legal speed limits on all local roads within the district. The project aims to reduce speed-related death and serious injuries. The scope of works consists of new (250) RS1, (10) RS55, (20) PW67 signs and related markings.

Separable Portion 2: Ngunguru Rd is a part of Whangarei District's HRRR programme (2021-2024) planned to implement appropriate safety improvements with the focus on road delineation and curve warning signage and road safety barriers. This project aims to reduce deaths and serious injuries. The scope of works consists of new (9) PW66, (148) PW67, and (50) PW17-23 signs.

The construction works are expected to commence mid-March and end May 2024 including leadtime for required materials.
