Semenoff Stadium is a multipurpose facility catering for conferences, meetings, weddings, functions, festivals, concerts and sports events. Semenoff Stadium is governed by the Northland Events Centre Trust 2021 (NECT) through a management agreement with Whangārei District Council (WDC).

Over the past 10 years the Stadium has hosted a number of successful events including RWC 2011, FIFA U-20 World Cup 2015, DHL British and Irish Lions, Vodafone Warriors, Super Rugby, Six60 concerts, Whangārei Fritter Festival, Christmas Festival, Mitre 10 Cup, Rugby League Northland and Northland Football Federation. In October 2022, the Stadium will be hosting the Women’s Rugby World Cup.

NECT seeks proposals from suitably qualified Catering Contractors to manage the exclusive Stadium Catering Contract for 5 calendar years commencing in January 2022.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to cater exclusively for all Stadium bookings using the Stadium Catering Kitchen. In addition, the successful applicant will have the ability to cater externally for events.

The objective of this procurement process is to select a suitably qualified Caterer that can demonstrate:
- Local expertise delivering large scale events within the New Zealand events and hospitality industry
- Experience successfully delivering outstanding catering services in a range of different settings
- Showcase local food and produce that is reflective of our Region
- A current A grade food license
- Evidence of excellent health and safety compliance
In addition, the applicant will be able to provide the optimal solution for:
- Value for money
- Quality of service
- Meet the business needs
