Western Bay of Plenty District Council (WBOPDC) is seeking an experienced Electrical and Automation Contractor to undertake a design-build upgrade of the Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation systems at the Ohourere Water Treatment Plant.
The project supports an increase in plant treatment capacity from 20 L/s to 50 L/s and includes design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of a new 250A main switchboard, PLC and communications panels, migration to a Rockwell CompactLogix control platform, replacement of the Depolox dosing control system, renewal of cable management infrastructure, and installation of associated power quality, UPS, surge protection and communications equipment.
The successful supplier will be responsible for delivering a compliant, future-ready solution in accordance with WBOPDC standards while maintaining continuity of operations at this critical water supply facility.
Proven experience in water treatment, industrial automation and brownfield infrastructure upgrades is essential. The works will be delivered under a single Electrical & Automation contract with strict constraints on plant and communications downtime.
Western Bay does not wish to consider works outside the Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation upgrade scope. This includes civil, structural, or Stage 2 works such as additional treated water storage and replacement of the booster pumps. Suppliers are not required to undertake plant improvements except where necessary to support the proposed electrical and automation solution.
