Overview

The contract involves the routine and reactive maintenance, emergency response, and renewal of
street lighting assets across the Western Bay of Plenty District Council’s (WBOPDC) local road network.
The contractor will be responsible for ensuring that all lighting assets remain electrically safe,
operational, and compliant, while contributing to improved network amenity, safety, and asset
management outcomes.

Critical to the success of this contract is a Contractor who can:

 Demonstrate strong health and safety performance
 Provide a reliable and timely service
 Deliver high-quality workmanship consistently
 Adapt to changing conditions
 Communicate effectively
 Provide value for money

This is a long-term opportunity to work with Western Bay under a standalone street lighting
maintenance contract. Successful delivery during the initial term may provide the opportunity to
extend the contract duration to five years. The contract offers a structured, multi-year programme of
work that provides pipeline visibility and workload certainty. It also represents an opportunity to build
a long-term relationship with Council, strengthen your track record in street lighting delivery, and
contribute to road safety outcomes across the District.
