Overview

Western Bay of Plenty District Council (Western Bay) wishes to procure construction of approx. 300m of creek bank protection works at Two Mile Creek in Waihi Beach (upstream of Dillion St bridge).

The works entail the supply of all material and the construction of the rock wall. An experienced site manager and construction team who have erosion and sediment control measures experience to build the rock walls from within the stream environment is essential. Great communication skills to liaise closely with the Council’s project engineer and each landowner about these works in their ‘back yards’, done in a safe manner, is also an essential requirement from the site manager and their team.

It is important for us that:
• the Respondent has experience in working in this type of environment. This must include an experienced site manager who has erosion and sediment control measures experience for construction operations to build the rock walls from within the stream environments.
• the Respondent has staff with the necessary skillset to successfully deliver this project.
• the Respondent has the ability and must give due consideration to ensuring effective interaction with landowners. This must include a site manager with excellent communication skills to liaise closely with Council’s project engineer and each landowner.
• the Respondent has robust supply chain management to ensure the supply for material.
