Overview

Western Bay of Plenty District Council is seeking proposals from suitably qualified and capable suppliers for the supply of a tertiary filter to treat secondary effluent from the Te Puke Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).

The Te Puke WWTP takes wastewater from the entire township of Te Puke, treating it via the following process: the liquid stream plant consists of an inlet screen, two activated sludge bioreactors, three secondary clarifiers, tertiary filtration and UV disinfection. The final effluent is discharged to the Waiari Stream through constructed wetlands.

Currently, the tertiary filtration is undertaken by a brush filter. This requires upgrade. Council wishes to procure a new rotary cloth media disc filter, which will be issued to an installation contractor.

The scope of work includes the design, manufacture, associated services (as detailed in the RFP) and delivery to site, of a tertiary filter unit capable to deliver the performance specified in this RFP.
