Waimakariri District Council (WDC) has an upcoming programme of civil construction works required to deliver the long-term plan for our Community.
WDC is seeking Contractor proposals from suitably qualified and experienced Civil Construction firms, who have previously tendered for WDC, to join a Prequalification List. Contractors who have not tendered for WDC in the past will be encouraged to prequalify as part of the tender for specific project.
This list will be established to support the ongoing planning and delivery of the Waimakariri District Council’s Long Term Plan (2018-2028) (LTP). The combined value of the LTP is in excess of $440m.
In order to simplify the procurement process, and to encourage the ongoing improvement in both WDC’s and Contractors performance, WDC is implementing a Prequalification and Performance Management System (Prequal System) for Civil Construction works.
WDC would like to continuously invite Civil Contractors to apply to be included in the Prequal System. This application would be similar to the first step in a multi-step procurement process. Once approved, the next step would involve a streamlined tender process, for qualifying work.
This Invitation to Qualify (ITQ) represents a unique opportunity to prequalify for Construction Works for WDC and to introduce a mechanism for how the performance of Contractors is proposed to be scored.
This Prequal list will be established for a period of 3 years with 1 + 1 renewal options and will ensure value for money and improved initiation of construction works contracts.
