The expected cost estimate for the project is $65.9 million including physical and enabling works, fees and land acquisition.<br><br>Council has approved the Business Case and co-funding has been confirmed for the pre-implementation phase from NZTA. Following review of the responses to a recent Market Sounding (Contract reference 26/16) , this invitation is to register interest to be shortlisted and invited to tender for the physical works contract as well as provide services during the design phase (ECI).<br><br>Council is seeking experienced civil contractors with the capability and capacity to construct the Rangiora Eastern Link. This complex civil works project will see the existing carpark area completely stripped back, regraded, and extended to create a new more open-plan layout allowing for better accessibility and additional parking spaces.<br><br>The scope also includes some underground services works being the replacement of approximately 130m of pressure watermain, 30m of new stormwater pipe with associated sumps, and lighting to suit the new layout with new poles and cabling. Other key tasks include the supply and install of decorative pedestrian paver areas to tie into the nearby town centre pedestrian laneways, tree pit and garden construction, and the supply and install of various pieces of street furniture.<br><br>Waimakariri District Council is seeking Registrations of Interest from Civil Works Contractors that have a proven track record of delivering high quality works in a dynamic town centre environment.
