Tararua District Council (TDC) has identified the need to undertake significant remedial works on the Dannevirke Treated Water Storage facility (Res No 2).

To acheive this, TDC is planning to release an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the first stage to construct a new reservior. At this stage, the preferred material for the reservoir is steel on a reinforced concrete foundation. Construction will include associated ancilliary systems and tie-ins.

Expressions of Interest will be sought from suitably qualified main contractors to support the delivery of critical water infrastructure.

This new facility will allow the existing reservoir to be taken offline for essential maintenance and upgrades. This will not disrupt existing water services to the community.

Once the existing reservoir is restored, both reservoirs will operate concurrently, significantly improving the resilience and operational flexibility of the Dannevirke water supply network.

The successful contractor will also be expected to collaborate closely with TDC and other stakeholders across all phases of the project.


PLEASE NOTE - this is a Future Procurement Opportunity. We will progress to an EOI Expression of Interest at a later date (Stage 1) and take a shortlist through to an RFP. (Stage 2). No formal responses or pricing is being sought at this early stage.
