Tararua District Council (TDC) is seeking suitably qualified and experienced contractors to assist with the physical works and professional services for the completion of capital improvements, recovery work and general maintenance of the roading and reticulation network for Tararua District Council via the Tararua Alliance.

The emergency road repair work is estimated to take five years and includes repairing 20 compromised bridges, 551 dropouts and 1807 other faults. Tararua’s roading network is the fourth largest in New Zealand, and we are looking for contractors to assist in repairing the road damage caused by cyclone Gabrielle, as well as scheduled maintenance and capital programme works.

During the cyclone response phase, the Tararua District Council received $10m from Waka Kotahi, and along with a further $34.7m for emergency repairs funding, there is a total of $44.7m to repair the roads damaged by the cyclone. With more funding potentially coming available in the future.

Tararua District Council are also wanting to understand the landscape of the local supplier market, and this registration of interest enables them to see what is out there in terms of supply and the level of experience and expertise available. This funding is an opportunity to support local supply chain development and will be a key focus of this supplier panel.

This is an open panel. You can register your interest at any time. We are also interested in suppliers that might not meet the minimum requirements, as there will be opportunity to develop suppliers as part of this panel.

You will initially self assess your grading in the service categories and we will use the information in the ROI response form to validate your self assessment. You can self assess in as many service categories as you feel are appropriate to the services you can offer.

The sooner you respond, the sooner we can move you through to the next stage. Completion of the next stage will confirm your status on the panel and you will become available to receive contracting opportunities.
