Selwyn District Council (Council) are tendering the road maintenance contract which includes the following:
• All routine road maintenance activities within the network from 'boundary to boundary' including pavements (sealed and unsealed), signs and road markings, vegetation, footpaths, cycleways, drainage, and structures.
• Renewals activities including resurfacing, pavement rehabilitation, re-metaling, signs renewals, drainage, bridge components and some footpath renewals.
• Some minor improvements work (where it's cost effective to include this in the contract or where the new work is integral with maintenance or renewal activity).
• Design and build for reseals, rehabilitation and other minor structures and minor works.
• Investigation and responding to service requests.
This contract does not include street-light maintenance and renewals, new capital works, unless co-located with maintenance or renewal work, professional services, or land drainage and water races.
Network and asset management is undertaken through a combination of in-house teams, and outsourcing specialist support.
The annual budget currently stands at $19m per annum, with a possible 9-year term totalling $173m.
1 to 1 contractor briefings will now be held on 23 September, and a working AWM tender database will be made available at that time. Tender start date 14 Oct 2026 - Tender close date 25 Nov 2026 (7-week period).
Within the tender period, we will be providing contractors the ability to present to the TET, dates tbc.
