The Selwyn District Council intends to procure a Design and Construct (D&C) contractor for the replacement of the existing Whitecliffs Bridge over the Selwyn River.

The existing bridge has reached the end of its service life and will be demolished and replaced in the same general alignment. The new bridge is expected to be a single‑lane structure with a separated pedestrian footpath, along with associated road, civil, and utility works.
The anticipated scope includes detailed design, demolition of the existing bridge, construction of the replacement bridge, approach road works, barriers and safety works, utility relocations, traffic management, environmental and cultural management, and project handover.
