Procurement of Design and Build services for a large basic shed/warehouse structure to house kerbside organics receival and decontamination processes.

Council seek a supplier who has the capability, experience, and appropriate track record to design and construct an enclosed building structure to house the organic materials receival and decontamination facility. It is anticipated that suppliers may offer standard designs and construction approaches may be appropriate for this project, suppliers with capability to deliver large sheds and similar buildings are encouraged to review the detailed specification.

Location: Pines Resource Recovery Park, 183 Burnham School Road, Burnham, Canterbury
Size: Approx 30m x 35m x 8.4m (at apex)
Compulsory onsite briefing: 13 March 2026 at 1pm

Other features:

- Utilise existing concrete pad as floor for structure. Foundations are to be independent.
- HVAC system to remove moisture generated from organics, as well as exhaust fumes from a loader, a mobile trommel and trucks tipping off
- 4 x large roller doors varying in width from 3.5m - 7m
- Incorporate translucent roof panels for natural light
- Structure design to allow for weight of possible future solar panel addition
- Note: building structure and cladding will be protected internally utilising interblocs or similar (not a part of this procurement)

Kerbside tipping operations and organics processing will need to be maintained during construction on the remainder of existing concrete pad.
