Queenstown Event Centre (QEC) is the main hub for sporting facilities in the Whakatipu region of the district. Based on sport and recreation strategy development and assessment of current and future needs, Council approved a total budget of $46m in the current 2024-34 Long Term Plan (LTP) to construct a new indoor sporting facility, including 4 indoor courts, new gym space, ancillary spaces, and parking infrastructure on the QEC site. This RFP relates to the procurement of Project Management Services to support the delivery to completion of the QEC Indoor Facilities Project and associated infrastructure, within budget and scope constraints.
The key objective of this procurement is to support the establishment of a competent team to deliver the project without compromising on quality, programme timing and risk to QLDC operations and events, and community users.
The procurement’s proposed outcomes are:
• Secure an experienced Project Management resource to support the successful delivery of the QEC Indoor Facility Project and associated infrastructure
• Deliver value for money to QLDC both with the procurement of Project Management services and the delivery of the project.
