Overview

The Queenstown Lakes District Council currently delivers its green space maintenance through a number of contracts. Due to the age and number of these contracts a decision has been made to go to market for the beginning of the 2017 year.

The Queenstown Lakes District Council supports local suppliers. Through the issuing of large green space contracts it is anticipated that small suppliers in local communities will be able to deliver works and services on behalf of the main contractor.

In addition the Council is seeking greater involvement with the community in the management of its parks, including the opportunity for volunteer and community-led groups to contribute to the provision of maintenance where appropriate.

The Queenstown Lakes District Council is inviting participants to submit proposals for the delivery of the Management and Maintenance Services for Tracks and Trails (the Contract Works).

QLDC envisages awarding a contract with an initial five year term, commencing 1 October 2017, with one three year term extension available at the discretion of QLDC.

It is essential that submitters are committed to carrying out the principal components of the scope of work with locally based resources.
