Overview

Opportunity Summary
Ōpōtiki District Council intends to invite tenders for the Stage 1A WWPS01 Upgrade - Civil and General Physical Works, forming part of Council's wider wastewater infrastructure upgrade programme.
This advance notice provides the contracting market with early visibility of the upcoming procurement opportunity, allowing interested contractors to plan resources and consider their capability and availability ahead of the formal request for tender (RFT).
Council is targeting release of the RFT through the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS) in December 2026. The contingency date for release of the RFT is January 2027.
The procurement is intended to be undertaken as open market competitive RFT that is evaluated by means of price quality method (PQM).

The Opportunity
The contract itself will comprise civil and general physical works associated with the upgrade of WWPS01, along with working alongside and assisting with co-ordination and collaboration of Ōpōtiki District Councils separate contractors for mechanical and electrical.
The successful contractor will require relevant civil infrastructure and live wastewater construction capability and the ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with the principal, engineer and separate contractors involved in delivery of the pump station upgrade.
The successful contractor must have experience in sheet piling, de-watering, construction staging, sequencing and proven ability in water pump stations.
A mandatory tender briefing/site visit is anticipated as part of the formal tender process.

Important Notice
This notice is provided for advance information only and does not constitute a request for tender, an invitation to submit an offer, or a commitment by Ōpōtiki District Council to proceed with the procurement within the indicative timeframes stated above.
All timings are indicative and may be subject to change. The final scope, tender requirements, procurement programme and contract documentation will be confirmed through the formal RFT when released on GETS.

Interested suppliers are encouraged to monitor GETS for the formal tender opportunity.
