"The Ōpōtiki CBD toilet block is in need of refurbishment as its internal fitting, fixtures, and finish are in a deteriorated state. The aim is to extend their practical life until a full rebuild is planned in approximately 5-6 years.
Additionally, refurbishment of the toilets at Waiotahi Beach Surf Club is planned within the 2025 – 2026 financial year.
Refurbishment of these facilities is important not only to maintain their functionality, but also to improve the amenity value in the area for residents, visitors and businesses in Ōpōtiki District.
What We Need
The work for this contract is planned to be undertaken in two Separable Portions.
Separable Portion 1 - Refurbishment of the Ōpōtiki CBD toilets will include stripping out existing Fixtures; Floor treatment; repainting and relining of all interior surfaces; construction to extend cleaners’ room; conversion of parents room into disabled accessible; and replacement of robust and vandal-resistant plumbing fixtures (pans, basins, taps, hand driers, mirrors, hand-rails, etc) and lighting.
Replacement of internal furniture, doors, and dividers, shelving and benching, with some internal wall construction is required. Some electrical and signage work will also be needed, together with incorporation of 2-fish design into design elements (e.g. flooring coatings and/ or glass etching, etc.)
Glass - glass refurbishment/ de-scaling/ potentially with etching of the foyer glass.
Separable Portion 2 Refurbishment of the toilet block adjacent to the Waiotahe Surf Club. Subject to good performance of the successful contractor for the works involved in Separable Portion 1, and acceptable pricing for Separable Portion 2, the contract will be extended to include Separable Portion 2.
Works required for Separable Portion 2 have not yet been scoped in detail. A condition assessment and works scope is planned to take place late in 2025"
