Overview

Ōpōtiki District Council (the Buyer) is undertaking a major performance review and upgrade to the Ōpōtiki Wastewater Treatment System to cater for the intended growth and potential quality demands.
The existing resource consent for the Ōpōtiki wastewater treatment system is due to be renewed by 2025.
Key needs facing our wastewater infrastructure include: Extending the wastewater network to support growth in the Hukutaia area; Upgrading the existing wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) to cope with future flows; Reducing the amount of ground water and stormwater entering the wastewater network; A river crossing designed specifically for future flows and pressures.
For this project, we are seeking proposals from suitably qualified engineering consultants to develop options, concept design based on the agreed option, process required resource consent, detailed design including Engineer’s estimate for the wastewater treatment plant inlet works.
The consultant can consider including aspects of the future scope of works within their proposal without exceeding the fixed lump sum. This will be considered in the tender evaluation when reviewing the consultant’s proposal against the scope, method and innovation attributes.
