Overview

New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) wishes to notify the market of its intention to undertake a non-binding Market Sounding process in April 2026. This will help inform the procurement process and future delivery model of NZTA’s contracted front counter services (e.g., driver licence issuing and renewal, vehicle licensing etc) ensuring that all New Zealanders can continue to access these services through a reliable nationwide retail network. The current contract expires on the 30 June 2027.

Participation will be voluntary, and information provided will be used solely to inform NZTA’s planning and the development of its future procurement and contracting approach.

We anticipate the Market Sounding invite will be released on GETS early April with more detail about the service and information on how to participate. To get notified once the opportunity is live, please subscribe.

Please use the GETS question function if you have any queries.
