The 13.5km section of what is currently State Highway 1 from Poplar Avenue to Peka Peka Road is no longer required for State Highway purposes now that the M2PP expressway is operational. Therefore, the NZ Transport Agency will revoke the State highway status of the Revocation Corridor and hand it over to the Council to the form and function of a local road, which they will be responsible for.

Required pre-qualification is 4A.
