Advance Notice – Seeking Expressions of Interest
Overview:
NZQA is preparing to release a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the development and delivery of an Assessment Capability Support Package. This initiative aims to strengthen internal assessment practices in targeted kura and schools through culturally grounded tools and resources.
Objectives:
The main objectives of this work are to:
-Lift assessment capability in identified schools and kura
-Produce and deliver a culturally grounded Assessment Capability Support Package with practical, ready-to-use tools, templates, and exemplars
-Strengthen assessment practices so kura and schools are well-prepared for future NCEA qualification changes
-Embed equity and Te Tiriti principles into moderation support, particularly for Māori-medium contexts
Scope of Procurement:
The successful supplier will be expected to co-design and deliver a comprehensive support package that includes:
-Culturally grounded assessment tools
-Exemplars and templates to support practice
-Clear and accessible guidance materials
-Support for implementation in kura and schools
This work will be undertaken in partnership with Māori education experts and other key stakeholders to ensure the package is authentic, relevant, and impactful.
Indicative Timeframes:
This is an advance notice only. No formal response is required at this stage. However, we are seeking expressions of interest from suppliers who have the capability, experience, and cultural competency to deliver this work.
