Overview

The purpose of this notice is to provide advance notification to the market of New Zealand Police’s intention to release a tender for the Northland Programme, including projects in Kawakawa and Whangārei.
The programme includes refurbishment and upgrade works within existing operational Police facilities to support increased staffing numbers and improve the functionality of facilities within the Northland District.
Indicative scope by project

Indicative works
Kawakawa • Extension to the existing building footprint to provide additional accommodation and operational capacity.
• Associated internal fit-out and reconfiguration works linked to the extension.
• Garage scope, including works to support vehicle storage and operational storage requirements.
• Front gate, fence and associated yard, access and groundworks interface requirements.

Whangārei • Internal modifications within the existing footprint to create locker and shower facilities.
• Fit-out of meeting room space and reshuffle of existing desks/workstations.
• Associated bathroom, accessibility, building services and make-good works required to support the revised layout.
• Coordination with landlord, existing tenancy constraints and operational use of the leased premises.

The full scope, site-specific requirements, drawings, specifications and contract documentation will be provided as part of the Request for Tender.
The tender is intended to be released via the Government Electronic Tenders Service (“GETS”) next week, week commencing 24 August.

A site visit is anticipated to be held next week, week commencing 24 August, with the confirmed date, time and attendance arrangements to be provided as part of the Request for Tender documentation.
