New Zealand Police (Police) is looking to replace their primary vessel for the Auckland Maritime Unit (AMU) – Deodar III with a similar vessel. This project is at the planning stage and the results of this RFI document will be used to:
• Inform a procurement process decision within NZ Police, as to whether there exists enough competition in the current market to undertake a competitive tender for the provision of these vessels,
• Understand the nature and composition of the supply market as well as any recent technological advancements on offer,
• Obtain indicative pricing for business case purposes,
• Refine business requirements.
Please note that this RFI is for information purposes only – it will not be used to evaluate individual suppliers, will not be used to create a shortlist and will not result in a contract award. However, it is an excellent opportunity for the supply market to provide early input into this project.
Following receipt of the RFI responses Police may contact or meet with a selection of suppliers to gain further information; this will not confer any advantage on any supplier if a subsequent RFP eventuates.
