New Zealand Police are seeking Requests for Proposals (RFP) for:

TN/21/07 – CVST Brake Testing Devices: Mobile Roller Brake Machines

Police are seeking to procure approximately 6 mobile roller brake machines that have the following capabilities when testing Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) on the roadside: detect brake performance issues in both performance and imbalance, detect overheated wheel bearing or axle hubs, and detect heat related anomalies in dangerous goods loads.

As devices will be predominately used on the roadside, they must be a gross weight of up to 3,000kg maximum light weight attachments to enable use over different floor levels and surfaces. The machines will be used for testing the brake performance of Heavy Motor Vehicles, therefore need to be capable of weighing axels in excess of 12,000kg. As performance outcomes could potentially lead to issued infringements, it’s imperative that the machines are certified and calibrated by the supplier. To ensure longevity and durability, Police also seek to procure devices that come with a warranty enabling devices to be serviced, maintained and repaired if required.
