This notification is to inform interested suppliers that New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) on behalf of Veteran Affairs New Zealand (VANZ) intends to release a request for proposal (RFP) for the Processing and Payment of Health Related Transactions for Veterans.
Veterans Affairs New Zealand (VANZ)) have responsibility under the Veterans’ Support Act (VSA) 2014 to ensure that veterans with an accepted condition that relates to their service have access to the appropriate primary healthcare service provider or pharmacy.
The purpose of this procurement activity is to enable eligible veterans to access pharmacy-based treatment, i.e. prescriptions (provided they are on the Pharmac Schedule) and primary healthcare service providers, without any upfront cost to the veteran.
The Supplier will need to establish and maintain a consolidated invoicing process with pharmacies and primary healthcare service providers selected by veterans. The supplier will process GP and Pharmacy invoices for medication and primary healthcare consultations, ensuring these services are provided to the veterans at no direct cost to them. The supplier pays the pharmacy or primary healthcare provider’s costs and invoices VANZ.
Note: This is a Future Procurement Opportunity (FPO) to alert suppliers of a potential upcoming procurement activity, though does not represent a commitment by NZDF to procure.
We intend to go to market June/July 2025. The opportunity will be advertised on the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS), through an Open RFP tender process.
