Overview

Every hour of every day, 365 days of the year, the NZDF is contributing to the defence, security and well-being of Aotearoa/New Zealand. As a modern, professional military, it is our goal to maintain well trained, equipped and disciplined armed forces that can react to crisis at short notice. Therefore we lead, train and equip our sailor, soldiers and airmen and women for action in the most demanding environments, so they are ready and able to protect New Zealand's interests.

Essential to its operational capability is safe, serviceable, and reliable equipment.

In order to enable its strategic objectives, NZDF is currently reviewing its Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) practices for non-platform equipment. The equipment is to be managed by the Defence Equipment Management Organisation (DEMO) using SAP as its enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. The NZDF MRO System is complex and requires significant knowledge and training to operate effectively. NZDF seeks to enable better practice through standardisation and simplification of processes & policies, with the support of enabling technologies. As such it is seeking information from potential suppliers of mobile technology solutions that would enable process efficiencies, and simplify work for operational users.

The NZDF seeks to identify mobility products that are currently available in the market that will facilitate good process, capture quality data from a range of sources, and support the evolution of MRO culture.
In particular the product must be:

a. A commercial off-the-shelf solution.
b. Able to integrate with SAP.
c. Support locally.
d. An end-to-end MRO Capability across the MRO value chain.

Interested suppliers are invited to send a short summary of their proposed solution to NZDF via email. General product information is sufficient for NZDF to understand possible solutions. A small number of suppliers (up to 6) at NZDF's discretion may be invited to discuss the proposed solution to NZDF staff at a Wellington NZDF location.

Please send the information to dcs@nzdf.mil.nz - Attention: MRO Request.

This information should be sent to NZDF before 3 March 2020.

NOTE: The information provided will inform the continued development of user requirements, and to inform funding requests for business change projects. The information will not be used to shortlist suppliers and should the project proceed a formal tender is expected to be issued.
