NZDF are seeking Registrations of Interest from the construction industry to reconfigure the Wigram Air Force Museum (Museum) car park entrance to improve the traffic flows, lighting and address seismic repairs caused by the Canterbury earthquakes.
Responses to this ROI will be evaluated against set criteria and a short list of qualified suppliers will be invited to respond to a subsequent Request for Proposal (RFP).
The detailed requirements of this ROI includes the following objectives:
a. To provide a modern and safe car-park for the Museum that is inline with the long-term plan for the Museum.
b. To enable greater traffic volumes whilst reducing the impact neighbouring properties.
c. Repair any seismic damage.
d. Reduce the acoustic issues of bus movements and noise on nearby residents.
e. Address unsafe bus parking manoeuvring.
f. Transport design issues with respect to circulation and access to public roading.
g. Ensure there is safe and appropriate pedestrian entrance to the Museum.
h. Allows for ‘spill over’ car parking in to the lawn area.
i. Address Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED).
j. Review and address any storm water, paving and landscaping requirements.
k. There will be a requirement to allow for a temporary car park while the current car park is being modified.

f. Contract Negotiations completed 4 Nov 16.
g. Commencement of work 9 Dec16.
