Overview

New Plymouth District Council (NPDC) is seeking a contractor with experience and expertise in delivering CCTV servicing, maintenance, repairs, equipment supply, installation, and technical support to provide reliable, compliant, and fit‑for‑purpose CCTV operations across both the City Safe network and NPDC facility camera assets in order to ensure continuous system performance, minimise downtime, and support public safety and security outcomes.
Our overall objectives include maintaining CCTV assets to a high operational standard, ensuring timely response and repair, supplying suitable equipment, and providing consistent reporting, communication, and technical capability aligned with NPDC requirements.
We are looking for a contractor with:
1) Proven experience in delivering similar-scale services.
2) Strong management skills and ability to work within tight timeframes
3) Excellent health and safety practices, particularly regarding public safety in an operational environment
4) Ability to work collaboratively with council and police staff
5) Commitment to delivering high-quality work and skills in placement, retention, cabling & network security fundamentals.
6) Compliance with the Private Security Personnel and Private Investigators Act (PSPPIA).
7) Working knowledge of the Privacy Act 2020, Information Privacy Principles (IPPs) for surveillance and chain of custody expectations for evidential footage.
8) Technical competency in Milestone and familiarity with Axis equipment.
