We are looking to appoint a mental health and addiction lived experience organisation (or a group of mental health and addiction lived experience organisations) to lead the design of a mental health and addiction lived experience national representative body.

The lead organisation will have mental health and addiction lived experience and would be expected to partner with an organisation that has the experience, capacity, and capabilities in research analysis, policy development and system design.

When we refer to a mental health and addiction lived experience body, we envisage a national body that could collect, coordinate or represent a collective view of mental health and addiction lived experiences in New Zealand – something that currently does not exist. This body would help shape services and enable lived experience knowledge to better inform strategy, policy and system-level changes at a national level.
