Overview

The purpose of this Advance Notice is to inform suppliers of an upcoming single stage RFP for the Shell & Core (S&C) Construction Works for the new Energy Centre at the Christchurch Hospital for the Ministry of Health (Ministry) and the Canterbury District Health Board (CDHB).

The RFP will seek a suitable Contractor to be engaged via a NZS3910 Contract to develop a collaborative relationship with the Ministry (Contract Principal) and the Ministry’s Boiler Supplier (Polytechnik) engaged under a FIDIC Yellow Book Design & Build Contract, to successfully construct the new Energy Centre by integrating the boiler equipment installation and commissioning into the overall delivery of the Works. The Energy Centre will comprise 2x biomass boilers, 1x LPG/diesel back-up boiler, fuel handling facilities and associated infrastructure to provide 8.3bar steam to the Christchurch Hospital campus and is classified as Importance Level 4 (IL4). The S&C Works, for which this Advance Notice pertains to, includes the construction of the new boiler house comprising ground improvements, concrete raft slab, steel superstructure, façade, interior fitout and structural/infrastructure connections to the existing services tunnel.

The RFP is targeted for issuance before the end of June and will comprise a 25 working day tender period. Tendering will be administered through Aconex with free access provided.
