Overview

The New Dunedin Hospital Project is being delivered by the Ministry of Health (the ‘Ministry’) on behalf of the Southern District Health Board, with the support of the Southern Partnership Group, Dunedin City Council and the University of Otago.

To support the development of the Detailed Business Case and procurement strategy for the New Dunedin Hospital Project, the Ministry will be conducting market engagement with interested suppliers and market participants commencing in July 2019. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in the largest health-related building project undertaken in New Zealand to date, with the new facility supporting a modern healthcare system capable of addressing the needs of the Southern region for the next 40-50 years.

The Ministry will commence the market engagement process with industry briefings in Dunedin, New Zealand on Tuesday 9 July 2019, and in Sydney, Australia on Friday 12 July 2019. These briefings will be followed by a request for written feedback and one-to-one market engagement meetings with selected participants in Auckland and Sydney.

The industry briefings will be led by representatives from the Ministry and the Southern Partnership Group, with support from the Treasury’s Interim Infrastructure Transactions Unit and EY. The briefings will include information on the New Dunedin Hospital Project, the New Zealand infrastructure pipeline, indicative timelines for the project and the market engagement process, and an opportunity for Q&A.

The briefing is open to all local and international suppliers and market participants with suitable expertise and capability in the following categories:
• Construction contractors;
• Civil works contractors; and
• Major sub-contractors for the above two types of works.

Please register your interest in participating in the market engagement process by completing the attached Response Form and emailing it to NDHprocurement@health.govt.nz. Further information will be provided to registered parties who can demonstrate they meet the criteria set out in the attached Response Form.

Registrations close at 5pm on Tuesday 2 July 2019.
