Flexible Disability Respite Supports on Waiheke Island - RFP

The Ministry of Health (the Ministry) released the disability respite strategy, Transforming Respite,1 in July 2017. The strategy makes it easier for carers of disabled people to have a break from their caring responsibilities and responds directly to what disabled people and whānau told us about their aspirations for the future. The strategy will give disabled people and whānau more choice, control and flexibility about how they are supported and recognises peoples’ desire for flexible options that meet their individual needs.
This Request for Proposal (RFP) is part of a range of actions being undertaken by Disability Support Services (DSS) to implement the respite strategy. This RFP is an invitation to suitably qualified Respondents to submit a proposal for the delivery of Flexible Disability Supports (FDS) to provide a range of respite options on Waiheke Island.
