Six responses were received via the GETS discussion paper, based upon seven questions that were issued. The following themes came through from responses received for the discussion paper ‘Rural Midwifery Recruitment & Retention’: Transportation is a challenge in the rural area. Accessing transportation is variable across different rural areas. Isolation is a key reality for LMCs working in isolated rural areas. Relationships, as it is considered important to support relationships and networks in the rural areas. Funding issues were highlighted across all respondents and covered the broad spectrum of midwifery services.
