The government’s vision for learning is that young people will be confident, connected, actively involved lifelong learners. While the vision, principles and values expressed in the New Zealand Curriculum document (2007) lie at the heart of teaching and learning in our schools, it is becoming more widely recognised that students’ learning outcomes are strongly influenced by their learning environment.

The Ministry requires specialist expertise to help develop and deliver the Greater Christchurch Education Renewal Programme -Transformation Programme that will support the needs of individual schools by preparing these schools to deliver its build programme and beyond (the transformation programme). The transformation programme is also required to support school staff through a change process to ensure teachers will have confidence in teaching in more flexible modern teaching and learning spaces.

The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is for the Ministry to establish a panel of Respondents to ensure the wider aims of the transformation programme and the build programme are achieved.
