This initiative focuses on the development of ten new journals and accompanying teacher support materials that reflect the intent and depth of Te Reo Rangatira 2025 for Tau 4–8. These resources are designed to support mokopuna in deepening their understanding of te ao Māori through high-quality reo Māori texts that are culturally grounded and rich in knowledge. The journals will play a critical role in strengthening language acquisition, cultural literacy, and critical thinking, while supporting explicit and purposeful teaching practices.
