The Ministry is seeking to increase participation in early childhood education (ECE). This is in conjunction with the Government’s Better Public Services (BPS) target that in 2016, 98% of children starting school will have participated in quality early ECE.
The objective of TAP partial funding (TAP 2) grants is to contribute towards establishing new services or expanding existing services, with the intention of creating new licensed or certificated child places in priority areas across New Zealand.
The Ministry of Education is seeking Suppliers to establish new child places in early childhood education and increase participation of children/tamariki from Māori, Pasifika, and low socio-economic status families/whānau in identified priority areas.
TAP 2 funding will provide a contribution towards establishing new child places in communities where they are needed most. The maximum payable grant will be $12,000 per new child place or 50% of total project costs, whichever is the lesser of the two.
