Overview

Manawatū District Council is seeking a suitably experienced civil contractor to undertake the construction of the remaining stages of the Turoa Street extension in Feilding, extending from the existing Echo Street/Turoa Street works through to Roots Street.
The works comprise the construction of new urban road infrastructure and associated three waters and utility services. This includes earthworks, road formation, kerb and channel, footpaths, stormwater infrastructure, wastewater reticulation, watermain works, service connections, utility trenching/ducting, property reinstatement works, fencing, access provisions and other associated civil works required to complete the new road corridor.

The contract will be delivered in two separable portions:
• Stage 1 – Chainage 230 m to Chainage 455 m, planned for completion within the current financial year.
• Stage 2 – Chainage 455 m through to Roots Street, currently planned for delivery in the following financial year. Subject to the tendered price, available budget and approval by the Principal, Stage 2 may be brought forward for delivery concurrently with, or consecutively to, Stage 1.

Tenderers should note that the works interface with existing residential properties, existing and proposed utility services, and future development areas. Coordination with Council, affected property owners and utility providers will therefore be an important part of the contract.
