The Christchurch Central Recovery Plan identified and provided a spatial concept of the Christchurch Convention Centre Precinct (CCCP) within the central business district as one of the key Anchor Projects. The CCCP will not only replace and surpass a facility lost in the Canterbury earthquakes but will also deliver a precinct that is able to effectively anchor event activity in the city centre and integrate commercial developments, attract domestic and international visitors into the central city and catalyse commercial development and private investment in the city centre.

Plenary Conventions NZ (PCNZ) has been appointed by the Crown as the Preferred Consortium to design and procure the construction of the CCCP and is inviting expressions of interest from experienced and qualified contractors to assist them in the development of the convention centre component using an Early Contractor Involvement model.
