Overview

The Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment (MBIE) plays a central role in shaping and delivering a strong and resilient New Zealand economy. Based within the Te Whakatairanga Service Delivery Branch of MBIE, the Temporary Accommodation Service (TAS) (www.tas.mbie.govt.nz) has a statutory duty under the National Civil Defence Emergency Management Order 2015 to coordinate the provision of temporary accommodation for displaced people following an emergency event.

This Request for Proposal is to appoint a panel of manufacturing suppliers for the offsite manufacturing (OSM) of houses after a natural disaster.
The Ministry is looking for credible offsite manufacturing suppliers that have the capability, experience and capacity to deliver a number of houses when the need arises. We expect several Respondents across both the North and South Islands to be successful in this tender.

A panel will allow MBIE to better meet demands when they arise, by providing MBIE with adequate geographic diversity, capacity and capability to meet MBIE’s potential needs.
