Overview
MBIE is responsible for the administration of the Engine Fuel Specifications Regulations 2011 (the Regulations), which set out minimum standards for fuels. The Regulations need to be reviewed In view of the planned closure of the Marsden Point refinery, the proposed sustainable biofuels mandate, evolving international standards and technological developments.
MBIE is seeking consultancy service for technical advice for informing the review of the Regulations. This includes technical advice on specifications for biofuels and mineral-based fuels, and the impacts of any new fuel specification requirements, particularly the impacts on fuel prices and emissions.
