Digital Delivery of Standards: The Value-add Programme

Standards New Zealand is seeking entrepreneurial partners to help us “break the book” when delivering New Zealand standards content to users. We are looking for third parties who can see potential for offering standards content to customers in innovative new ways that provide greater benefits for customers and end users, thereby making standards content more useful and increasing traction for standards throughout New Zealand. This is what we call our “Value Add Programme” (VAP) We recognise that some standards “set the bar” for compliance while others demonstrate best practice for users – and that some standards are a mix of both purposes. We are open to proposals that help with either aspect of standards.
Standards New Zealand offer a supportive path through the copyright system to help develop the idea into real world use and commercial viability. Approved VAP pilots receive fee-free copies of one or more standards to develop their digital tool. The product of that tool can then be sold under a revenue-sharing arrangement when the pilot reaches commercialisation.
