The Building (Building Products and Methods, Modular Components, and Other Matters) Amendment Bill is the first phase of a programme of reforms to the building regulatory system that will lift the efficiency and quality of building work and provide fairer outcomes if things go wrong.
Regulations will be required to implement changes proposed in the Bill.
To support the development of regulations, MBIE requires: 
- A review, and amendments if required, of MBIE’s cost benefit analysis of the proposed Building Products Information Requirements in the Bill and proposed regulations; and 
- A cost benefit analysis of the modular component manufacturer scheme regulations (including some market analysis of likely scheme take up).
